The Governing Body is made up of 12 members. There are 2 parent Governors, 1 Authority Governor, 7 Co-opted Governors and 2 Staff Governors. There is also a Clerk to Governors.

Nicole Hartley
Hello my name is Nicole Hartley. My son is at St John's Mead school. My passion and work is bringing mindfulness and yoga into schools and so I'm delighted to be offered the position of governor for this school, with all the amazing work they've done with Mindup.
I hope to bring a different perspective as well as my skills and experience from years of working in the charity sector, as a holistic counsellor and yoga teacher.

Gina Greaves
Hello my name is Gina Greaves and from 1992 until 2014 I was a member of the administration staff at the School. During those years I observed the school evolving into the very special and inspirational setting that it is today.
I am so proud to have been part of the School's development over the years and was very happy, on my retirement in 2014, to be offered the opportunity to continue my support for the whole school community by becoming a member of the Governing Board.

Rob Cousins
Hello, My name is Rob Cousins. I am Director of Music and Performing Arts at St Andrew’s Prep in Meads and also teach some GCSE and 'A' Level at Eastbourne College. I have also taught in University Departments, so overall have had experience teaching at many different levels. In addition to my teaching I have spent a large proportion of my career working in the professional theatre and have been very lucky to have been the conductor of various West End shows, national and international tours of big musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Grease! I have been responsible for all the music in the Eastbourne (Devonshire Park) pantomime over the last 20 years… Oh yes I have!
I am delighted to be involved with West Rise Infant School. I am particularly passionate about the schools emphasis on caring for and supporting each other. I look forward to playing my part in upholding this culture within the school community.

Jenny Fielder
Hello my name is Jenny and I am very excited to be starting my new role as a parent governor. I have a son who attends the infant school and hopefully my daughter will join the school in the future. I have lived in Eastbourne for over 15 years and I am a Dietitian working for the NHS.
I am looking forward to becoming more involved in school life and I hope to be able to help the school to continue its great work supporting the health and wellbeing of everyone in the West Rise Infant School family.

Scott McCallum
I am very excited to have been recently appointed as a parent governor. My daughter started at the school last September and my son will hopefully starting in the nursery next September. I attended the school as a child and have seen the school continue to grow.
Becoming a governor gives me the opportunity to help the school continue to build and provide a great start for all the children who pass through the door.

Michael Duckett
Helloo! It is an honour to be aboard the governing team as a parent here at West Rise. I left Bishop Bell in 89, and Eastbourne in 95. I have spent the last 9 years teaching English abroad in South East Asia. Having had experience in the classroom, and with my ongoing role as a parent, I feel I might have experience and perspective worthy of sharing to help in the best operation of our lovely school.”
