It's been a busy term back in school with Reception children having lots of fun opportunities to practice phonics and to consolidate their knowledge of numbers and number patterns using Numicon to 20 and beyond. They have also been enjoying the story, 'Handa's Surprise, and having fun learning about life in Kenya through activities based around this story.
Year One have been learning about the wonder of nature, looking closely at leaves, trees, seed and plants. They have also been growing their own sunflowers and cress from seeds and conducting experiments to see what happens when plants don't have all they need to grow.
Africa has been one of the main learning topics for Year Two children. They have enjoyed listening to and writing their own stories set in Africa and have also loved exploring African sounds and rhythms through music and dance.
