February 2020

During February our Reception children have had some very exciting visits from ‘People who help us’. Two local Firefighters came in to talk to the children all about what a firefighter does and they showed the children their fire engine which they even got to sit in – they were so excited! Next we had a visit from a vet and a veterinary nurse, they came along in with a dog and talked to the children all about how they care for poorly animals, the children loved it. A local Police Officer also popped in to talk about what the Police do and how they help us, the children really enjoyed trying on his hat and looking at his handcuffs. We also had two lovely paramedics come in and talk to the children about the life saving work that they do. All of the children had a chance to look in the ambulance and have a go at sitting on the bed and in the chair!

After their visits the children also enjoyed a range of imaginative activities and lots of discussions, about helpful people in everyday life.
